While visiting the various sites in Barcelona, Spain, Geoffrey and I were most inspired by Park Guell, the park where visionary architect, Antonio Gaudi, used organic forms and mosaic in a gloriously uninhibited fashion, design-wise. At that same time, I was engrossed in a mural project I was coordinating at long distance in Texas, and was fascinated by the forms of tumbleweeds. Incorporating mosaic into this organic expression of a tumbleweed after we returned to Chicago I was unabashedly influenced by Gaudi's works.
