This work was a collaboration between me and my husband, sculptor Geoffrey Novelli. I carved the Mississippi River-inspired image of the eels into a sand mold and we took it to the Art Institute Iron Pour in 2016 where molten iron was poured into it. After we took the work home, Geoffrey spent hours chasing, polishing and sharpening the circular sculpture with his special saws.
