This work was commissioned by my friend and long-time collector Tonya Schuitmaker from Lawton, Michigan. Proudly, I can say that she is a representative in the state senate there! It is based upon several excursions I have taken to Starved Rock State Park, and the significance of the five waterfalls is that she had at that time five family members -- now there are more. "Five Waterfalls" is typical of my work that infuses very subtle symbolism into the content, using nature as reference.
