This watercolor was painted on location on a perfect day in Lugano, Switzerland. The setting was idyllic -- a garden next to a lake with mountains in the distance and red-tiled buildings looking very picturesque on the side of the mountains. The Swiss tend to be spectacular gardens, and it was not hard to find inspiration here. I think that this work took all of three hours to paint.
