I arose at 5AM to walk down to the waterfront in Lugano to paint this strange fountain, as it had caught my eye the day before. I flooded the paper with water and it seemed to take form all on its own. I loved the abstraction that the jets of water created and the strong blues and greens. The work was completed by 9:30 AM. The bronze cast logs as the main 'subject' of the fountain were a refreshing contrast to all of the fountain statuary I had been viewing, however dramatic.
